CALL FOR APPLICATIONS – “PAOLO RICCA INTERNATIONAL PRIZE”

23/02/2026

The “Paolo Ricca International Prize for Theological-Ecumenical Research” was established to honor the figure of the world-renowned theologian Paolo Ricca and is supported by the Otto per mille funds of the Waldensian Church – Union of Methodist and Waldensian Churches.

The Prize aims to encourage and promote research in the field of theological-ecumenical studies and is open to authors of works in this area, particularly doctoral dissertations, written in one of the following languages: Italian, English, French, or German.

The Prize must be collected in person by the selected author. The award ceremony will take place within the current year 2026 and will include a public presentation of the winning work by the author at the Waldensian Faculty of Theology in Rome, in the presence of the Selection Committee.

The prize amounts to €3,000 (three thousand euros).

Applicants must submit their application (see attached form) and the text in PDF format no later than 18 June 2026 to the following email address: premiopaoloricca@facoltavaldese.org, attaching a curriculum vitae and – in the case of dissertations – a letter of recommendation from the supervisor.

The Selection Committee will consist of five (5) members – including one representative of the Ricca family – and will be chaired by a professor of the Waldensian Faculty of Theology in Rome.

The decision of the Committee is final and not subject to appeal.
